Shun hate speech in your campaigns, NIPR warns Osun politicians

Osun State chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has cautioned politicians to abstain from using hate speech in their campaigns.
The NIPR urged political parties to engage the service of professionals in their campaigns to avoid prejudice.
The chairman of the NIPR in the state, Adesoji Ademola spoke on Monday in Osogbo during a peace summit organised for gubernatorial candidates in the coming Osun State governorship election.
He said he gave the advice against the backdrop of the intensity of electioneering and the attendant emotions.
Ademola said it has become imperative for the NIPR to engage stakeholders to ensure peace and order during this window.
The summit with the theme, “Sustaining Our Values Beyond Elections,” the NIPR said it will be engaging with the gubernatorial candidates and stakeholders on behalf of the public and the good people of Osun State.
“During this engagement, we shall be focusing on how the candidates intend to sustain the cherished peace of the State. Precisely, all the Gubernatorial candidates representing the political parties in the state will converge at the venue to share their views on the topic “Osun 2022: A State, Its Politics, Economy and Image,” NIPR said.
