Omri Geller, Run: ai co-founder and CEO confirmed the acquisition in a statement seen by Newsng on Wednesday.

According to Nvidia, it will invest in Run: ai’s product roadmap as part of Nvidia’s DGX Cloud AI platform and will continue to provide its products “under the same business model” for the foreseeable future.

Omri Geller cofounded the startup with Ronen Dar several years ago after the two studied together at Tel Aviv University to provide visibility and control over resource prioritization and allocation while simplifying workflows and removing infrastructure hassles for data scientists.

“Run: ai has been a close collaborator with Nvidia since 2020 and we share a passion for helping our customers make the most of their infrastructure,” Omri said in the statement.

“We’re thrilled to join Nvidia and look forward to continuing our journey together.”

It was learnt that Run: ai represents Nvidia’s largest acquisition in Israel following its $6.9 billion acquisition of Mellanox in March 2019.

Nvidia’s in-country R&D centre in Israel, which was initially founded in 2016, has expanded by around 100% since the acquisition, employing 4,000 people there.

Numerous product teams at Nvidia Israel are working on cutting-edge technologies in a variety of domains, including networking, AI-based cyber-security, BlueField-DPU, CPU design and development, autonomous vehicles, video streaming, and more. We earlier reported that Vietnamese FPT, in a joint statement released on Tuesday, revealed intentions to build an artificial intelligence (AI) plant with Nvidia for $200 million.
