Comment on Peter Obi – A Citation by Dr. Dee

Maybe there is a slight political imperative for Nigeria to have a president of Igbo extraction. But then, such a person would have to persuade a plurality of Nigerians. This hypothetical politician’s case is certainly not helped by the abuse some Igbo people heap on non-Igbos.

As for Mr. Obi–if I thought he was qualified before–the image of him in front of 10 Downing Street has persuaded me otherwise. He certainly does not understand the moment. To him I say- Sir, convince your compatriots first of your worthiness to lead before you start trying to convince our oppressors.

His divorce from the PDP also shows he is a poor reader of the times and of his fellow politicians. He did not make a case for why anyone should prefer him to the competition. Some say he will now go to another political party to pursue his dream. I wish him well but he is already too late. Where in Nigeria with exception of the South East does he have political structures? Even in the SE, he has serious competition. So, how on earth is he going to win the Nigerian presidency?
