Professor Ogundipe, who hailed the decision of lecturers to return to classes, prayed that such a strike should not happen again.

The ASUU called off its eight-month strike on Friday.

Ogundipe noted that the institution would ensure that students returned to campus as soon as possible.

She said ASUU was not fighting the government, but just had some differences which have been resolved.

The VC disclosed that during the strike, some non-teaching activities were happening on campus.

“Now that the strike has been suspended, we are going to ensure that in the next two weeks our students come back”, NAN quoted him saying.

Ogundipe stressed the need for continuous dialogue to resolve any form of disagreement between ASUU and government.

House of Representatives Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila said the suspension of the strike does not mean the issues of funding, education standard, student and staff welfare have been resolved.
