Sen. Buhari facilitates police job for 65 constituents, provides logistic support
Sen. Abdulfatai Buhari (APC-Oyo North) has charged youths from Oyo North Senatorial District who were newly recruited into the Nigeria Police Force(NPF) to be good ambassadors of the area.
He gave the charge on Sunday while addressing the newly recruited youths in the Ogbomoso area of the state.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the two-term lawmaker, who is the Senate Committee Chairman on Land Transport, had facilitated the recruitment of 65 constituents into the NPF.
Buhari, who was in 2021 voted the best performing Senator of the State by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council, had earlier facilitated the same job for scores of constituents.
Buhari said that all the 65 newly recruited youths of his constituents would join scores of others he had earlier facilitated their employment with the police.
He also provided logistics including financial assistance to all the beneficiaries to make their training a huge success in the ongoing 20212022 police recruitment training.
The lawmaker urged them to be of good conduct during their six-month training.
“I am very happy and hereby congratulate our successful candidates in the just concluded Police recruitment exercise.
“They all passed the final examinations and underwent the screening and medical stages successfully.
“I urge you all to be good ambassadors of Oyo North like your predecessors who just passed out early this month.I wish you well,” he said.
The successful candidates are to report to Police Training School (PTS), Ibadan from July 23 to 30 for their training.
Oyo North comprises 13 local governments were drawn from the Oke-Ogun and Ogbomoso areas of the state with the councils securing five slots each.
