Police arrest suspects for muder of Taraba monarch, son
The Taraba State police command has arrested some suspects in connection with the July 28 gruesome killing of the traditional ruler of Yukuben chiefdom.
The monarch, Udeng Ibrahim Yamusa and his son, Musa Ibrahim, were alleged to have been killed along Kpambo-Fikyu road in an ambush by suspected militias, in Takum Local Government Council of the State.
Confirming the report on Wednesday in Jalingo, the police Commissioner, Abimbola Shokoya, said six suspects in connection to the killings of the monarch and his son, have been arrested.
The Commissioner, who disclosed that many of the suspects were still at large, said thorough investigation had been launched by the command to ensure that the other suspects were not spared.
Narrating how the suspects were arrested, he said, “on Thursday, 28 July, 2022, information came that the Chief of Yukuben, in Takum Local Government Area was missing and we immediately sent out search party to rescue and bring him back.
“However, on Friday, which was the next day, the corpse of the Chief was discovered in a bush.”
He told journalists that, “we are having some suspects that are helping us in the investigation.”
