The governor spoke during the inauguration of 26-member Advisory Council for the Peoples Democratic Party 2023 Campaigns, at the Banquet hall of Government House in Umuahia, the state capital.

A former presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa, chairs the Abia PDP Advisory Campaign Council, while Chief Uzodinma Okpara and Professor Paul Ananaba, SAN, are the Deputy chairman and Secretary of the Abia PDP Advisory Campaign Council respectively.

Governor Ikpeazu urged the council to evolve a strategy that would lead the party to total victory in the forthcoming general elections in 2023 in Abia state.

He said the advisory council must ensure victory for the PDP in the coming elections, charging them to embark on door to door campaigns, especially at the grassroots.

Ikpeazu, who doubles as the Deputy Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Governors Forum, expressed confidence in the ability of members of the State PDP Advisory Campaign Council to lead the party to victory in 2023 elections, and further tasked the council members to ensure they broker genuine reconciliation for all aggrieved members.
