New twist as militant group releases video in support of Emefiele’s presidential bid

A militant group, the Niger Delta Reserve Force, said it rooting for the candidature of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele, releasing a video to support this position.

Emefiele purchased his All Progressives Congress, APC, Presidential nomination form to contest for the presidency same Friday morning.

In video, the militants leader, General Jack Fineboy, promises that the group will lay down its arms, and help put an end to kidnappings and oil bunkering in the Niger Delta if Emefiele is given the presidential ticket. He reiterated that his group is not against the Federal Government but fighting for the development of the Niger.

Consequently, he urged APC delegates to vote Emefiele as “you receive your dollars at your conference in Abuja.”
