In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, Fubara refuted claims circulating online, including manipulated videos falsely showing explosions at oil and gas facilities. He emphasized that the affected communities have discredited the reports, confirming that all key infrastructure remains secure and functional.

“To be clear, Governor Siminalayi Fubara has no affiliation with any militant group, nor would he ever support actions that jeopardize peace, security, or the economy,” the statement read.

Reaffirming his dedication to peace, Fubara stressed that progress and governance depend on a stable environment. He also cautioned against exploiting the state’s political challenges for personal or divisive agendas.

The governor issued a stern warning to bloggers and social media influencers peddling falsehoods, noting that their actions risk inflaming tensions.

He called on security agencies to investigate and prosecute those spreading misinformation.
