Gov Badaru charges journalists to uphold ethics of their profession

Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa State has charged journalists to uphold the tenets of their profession by being objective, balance in their reportage, especially during the General Elections.

The governor spoke at the lecture and award presentation in honor of late Ahmad Abubakar, former chairman correspondence chapel of Jigawa State held at Sir Ahmadu Bello Hall, Dutse.

Represented by his Deputy, Malam Umar Namadi, Abubakar, said journalists, as the fourth estate of the realm, have key roles to play in the development of a country.

He advised journalists against sensationalism to avoid overheating the polity.

Badaru commended the late Ahmad Abubakar for respecting the ethical values of the noble profession.
