Falconets, first team to qualify for q-final of Under-20 World Cup


Nigeria’s Falconets late on Sunday night became the first team to qualify for the 2022 World Cup quarter final after defeating stubborn South Korean babes 1-0 in Group C.
Forward Onyenezide scored the goal in the 83rd minute to make the Nigerians qualify for the next round.

A scanty 482 fans of the ousted Costa Rican watched the match which was superintended by Ref Marta Huerta de Aza from Spain.
Ref Marta Huerta de Aza flashed one yellow card a piece to both sides. From 7 fouls to Nigeria and 10 to South Korea who played physical football like any African teams.
The Nigerians played relentless, holding the ball better and making better passes.
They had by the same margin beaten France in the opening game of the group.

Matches at the tournament are being affected by continuous rainfall as the Nigerian match had to face a slight delay before commencement.
The match against France was put on hold for a while in the 20th minute because rains.
Falconets’ ticket to the quarters will be confirmed when they defeat Canada in the last group game on Wednesday.
The win by the Falconets is a continuation of the glory Nigerian women in the last Birmingham Commonwealth Games where all the medals haul were from the irresistable ladies.
