Arsenal legend, Ian Wright, has urged midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga to remain ‘patient’ after his underwhelming display for the Gunners in their FA Cup 3-0 win against Oxford on Sunday night.

Lokonga struggled to impress as Arsenal defeated Oxford United, following goals from Eddie Nketiah and Mohamed Elneny.

The 23-year-old started for Arsenal against the League One side, but he was substituted just past the hour mark, having failed to make an impact.

“I think with [Albert Sambi] Lokonga, Oxford played very well the time he was on, it was very hard for him to find space,” Wright told ITV Sport.

“Unfortunately for him, he got taken off and [Fabio] Vieira stayed on, and he was able to show the quality once they got tired, and he got a bit more space.

“You are hoping at some stage it will kick in for Lokonga because at the moment, it doesn’t seem like it is happening for him. He just has to be patient, I think.”
