Uzoka, renowned for his distinguished tenure as the Group Managing Director at United Bank for Africa (UBA), joins the board to infuse an independent perspective and enhance objectivity in decision-making processes.

This strategic move aims to fortify stakeholder trust and confidence in the company’s governance.

Effective March 26, 2024, Uzoka’s appointment follows the retirement of Mr. Emmanuel Nnorom, a Non-Executive Director, whose tenure concluded with the Annual General Meeting on March 28, 2024.

However, Uzoka’s designation is contingent upon approval from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), underlining the adherence to regulatory procedures.

Joseph Jibunoh, the Company Secretary at African Prudential, expressed gratitude to Mr. Nnorom for his significant contributions during his tenure, which witnessed numerous groundbreaking achievements.

Nnorom’s dedication and expertise played a pivotal role in the company’s growth trajectory, and his legacy will be remembered with appreciation by the board.

Bringing over three decades of experience to African Prudential, Mr. Uzoka’s illustrious career spans various domains including governance, commercial banking, product marketing, information technology, human resources management, and strategic advisory services.

Notably, he retired as the Group Managing Director/CEO of United Bank for Africa Plc, solidifying his reputation as a visionary leader in the financial industry.
