EPL: Lampard hails Man United’s clinical nature as Chelsea lost 4-1 at Old Trafford

Chelsea interim manager, Frank Lampard has given reasons why his club lost to Manchester United, hailing what he called the opponents’ “clinical nature” in front of goal.

Lampard said the difference was indeed the clinical nature at front of goal as the Blues lost 4-1 at Old Trafford on Thursday.

The Blues missed an early chance through Mykhailo Mudryk, before Casemiro headed in the opening goal. Anthony Martial then made it 2-0 before the break.

Bruno Fernandes converted his penalty and Marcus Rashford added a fourth.

Joao Felix pulled one back for Chelsea at Old Trafford.

Lampard told Sky Sports: “The clinical nature in front of goal. We were the better football team in the first half – in possession, chances we matched them at least.

“To be 2-0 down is probably a sign of where we’re at. Second half, probably a sign of where we’re at.”
