EPL: Chelsea wraps up plans to replace Rudiger, Christensen
Chelsea are wrapping up plans on how to replace their centre-backs, Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.
Consequently, they have identified four potential centre-back targets to replace them.
The Stamford Bridge club are in need of defensive reinforcements this summer, with both Rudiger and Christensen set to leave on free transfers when their contracts expire at the end of the season.
Rudiger and Christensen are expected to join Real Madrid and Barcelona, respectively.
Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel, is keen to bring in two top defenders this summer to cover for the departures of Rudiger and Christensen.
And according to Goal, the West London club are keeping tabs on Paris Saint-Germain’s Presnel Kimpembe, Sevilla’s Jules Kounde, RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol and Atletico Madrid’s Jose Giminez as a potential replacement for the defenders.
It remains to be seen if Chelsea will be able to conduct any business due to the restrictions placed on the club after Roman Abramovich was sanctioned by the UK government, with delays to the sale process creating more uncertainty.
Meanwhile, Chelsea captain, Cesar Azpilicueta, could also leave Chelsea, with the Spaniard linked with a switch to Barcelona.
