Court remands man over alleged abduction, rape of teenager
A 23-year-old man, ThankGod Onyedika, has been remanded in the Kirikiri Correctional Centre, for alleged abduction and rape of a teenager.
The Chief Magistrate, B. O Osunsanmi, ordered him to be remanded until September 28 pending legal advice from the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecution.
Onyedika, a phone technician, who resides at 41, Olajumoke St., Ikotun, Lagos, is being charged with conspiracy, abduction and rape.
The Prosecution Counsel, ASP Raji Akeem, told the court that the offences were committed on July 11 at Ikotun area, Lagos.
Akeem alleged that Onyedika and others at large, adducted a 15-year-old girl on her way to her friend’s house.
Akeem told the court that Onyedika and his accomplices, allegedly drugged and raped the victim and kept her captive for five days.
The offences, according to the prosecutor, contravenes the provisions of sections 27, 269 and 411 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
