Comotion as thugs disrupt collection of voters’ cards in Osun

There was commotion on Thursday as thugs disrupted the ongoing collection of Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) at Ilesa West Local Government Area of Osun State.

Eyewitnesses said thugs had stormed the venue of the PVC collection and terrorised residents who had gathered to collect their PVCs scampered for safety.

In order to ensure safety of lives, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Electoral Officer for the local government had to temporarily suspend distribution of PVCs following the attack.

The Osun INEC spokesperson, Osimosu Oluwaseun, who confirmed the incident, said it was true.

She, however, disclosed that the situation had been brought under control and the exercise would continue tomorrow, Friday, June 24, 2022.
