Liverpool defeated Villarreal in Spain, thanks to three second-half goals from Fabinho, Luis Diaz and Sadio Mane.

Boulaye Dia and Francis Coquelin did score for Villarreal in the first half during the encounter.

And Klopp believes Liverpool defeated Unai Emery’s side because in the second half of the encounter, his players were themselves.

The German said at his post-match press conference: “First half all of a sudden we were not ourselves, but in the second half we were ourselves and that’s why we won the game.

“Yes of course, Luis, what a goal and he had a few more situations.

“I think the first one he takes with a bicycle kick, if he takes that on the chest he can score already. So yeah, top performance.”

Liverpool will now play the winner between Real Madrid and Manchester City in the Champions League final in Paris on May 28.
