France U-21 and Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise has officially been unveiled by German Bundesliga side, Bayern Munich. Olise joined the club on a five-year deal worth the sum of £52 million.

Crystal Palace was said to have allowed top English Premier clubs, including Manchester United, Chelsea, and Newcastle United, to talk with the player, but he preferred a move to Germany.

During his three seasons at Palace, the 22-year-old forward, who was born in England, made 90 appearances in all competitions.

Indeed, in spite of a hamstring injury last season, Olise participated in half of Palace’s Premier League games.

In a video shared on the club’s social media, Olise donned the Bavarian side’s famous red shirt and also disclosed that he is very happy to join a club like Bayern Munich.

According to him, “Talks with FC Bayern were very positive, and I’m very happy to now be playing for such a big club.

‘’It’s a great challenge, and that’s exactly what I was looking for. I want to prove myself at this level and play my part in ensuring that we win as many titles as possible with our team in the coming years.’’

Bayern’s sporting director Christoph Freund outlined the salient characteristics that prompted them to pursue an acquisition of Olise in response to the player’s signing.

‘’Michael is quick, tricky, a goal threat and very versatile in attack.

‘His goals and assists stats are already outstanding. At the age of 22, Michael is already very advanced, but is also hungry and still has a lot of potential.

‘’Fans come to the stadium to see players like Michael Olise,” Freund added.
