France striker, Karim Benzema said he is encouraged and motivated by good words from Messi, the Argentine captain over who should win the Ballon d’ Or in 2022.
Messi had a few days ago backed Benzema to win this year’s Ballon d’Or.
The Argentine insisted there is ‘no doubt’ in his mind the Real Madrid attacker should win the 2022 Ballon d’Or.
Benzema, who was reacting to Messi’s words after France’s UEFA Nations League 2-1 defeat to Denmark on Friday, told ESPN: “Yes, yes, I saw the words from Messi.
“Words from a player like him, it gives me more motivation to make my things better.”
Benzema, meanwhile, scored France’s only goal against Denmark.
The 33-year-old will hope to lead France to victory when they face Croatia in their next game on Monday.
