Oseni had taken to his twitter handle to announce that policemen pointed a gun at him for illegally driving on BRT lane.

He said a Nigerian police officer pointed a gun at him and forcefully took his keys and drove his car off, because he wanted to enforce a traffic infraction, saying he thinks the police needed training and retraining.

“I offered to pay for the traffic infraction but the police was hell bent on forcefully collecting my keys and pointing a gun at me. I saw three other cars drive by the BRT lane and they were not stopped. I am at sea! Why point a gun at me and forcefully collect my key. I am shocked.

” Am terribly hurt. Enforcement can be done via remita or other http://platforms.It could be tidier. We need to use technology to help the police.

“I am not a lawmaker, I saw cars pass through the Supposed BRT lane and they were not stopped, all of a sudden, I was stopped and told I used the bus lane. If I didn’t see other cars I will not go through, plus I was not conversant with the road. In fact after I was stopped, three cars also, I have just spoken to the police now and we have resolved the matter.

“I stated my side of the case to the police and we resolved amicably. I must state citizens must be treated better and the police must approach things better. We citizens have rights and that’s all I demanded,” said in series of tweets.

But Nigerians are angry that Oseni was not even remorse after breaking the road law.

Asiwaju PDP wrote: “Do u have ur name on ur license plate to show it was ur car ? Bcos u are making it like they allowed everyone but stopped only u … what are u dragging bros .. u violated traffic rule and u still trying to justify it .. what’s going on here guys.”

Emmanuel Uche added: “Am still finding it difficult to understand the guy self. Making it sound as if he did nothing wrong. The same person will go on Air and be claiming Saint. SMH.”

Adegoke Taiwo Paul wrote: “Because they didn’t arrest the other three doesn’t mean they won’t arrest you… You break the law by plying the road no go talk this for stations…”

Maj General Femi Otunba asked: “How can we repair Nigeria if cannot obey common traffic rules@ruffydfire, very shameful for you to claim you break the law because you see other people doing the wrong thing.”

Moshood Okunola stated: “If people are doing bad things does not mean you should do same. you should have pass the right way to serve as a good example.”

SP Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesman, Lagos Police Command, who left Oseni off the hook, said “Rufai, let’s not do this. You admitted to me that you passed a BRT lane. It’s against the law. Your claim that google maps took you there is not tenable. You disobeyed and resisted the officers. We’ll sanction the officer who misused firearm if proven…”

Jubril Gawat wrote: “Funny guy, U passed BRT Lane .. U started dragging with enforcement officers, u admitted Lowkey that u committed the offence ‘due Google maps’ and still came back to tweet this to rile up people against the enforcement officers …. Haba !!!

“Can’t u see that u are making urself look like a clown with all these ur tweets ?? Even me, I won’t dare pass BRT Lane not to talk of one-way on a normal day, not to talk of now that I work inside, If my Oga should hear .. Big trouble …“

Daddy O.O added: “Rufai’s entire argument is that since others have passed the BRT lane, that invalidates the fact that it’s a crime. I hope LASG make an example out of him.”

Akin Akinwale mocked: “Oseni Rufai admits to have broken the law by passing BRT lane. Mentions Google Map as an accomplice.”
