AAC criticises IPAC, Makinde over Oyo LG elections

The African Action Congress (AAC), Oyo State chapter, has strongly criticised the Inter-party Advisory Committee (IPAC) and Governor Seyi Makinde for their assertion that the recent Local Government elections in the state were free and fair.

Comrade Kayode Babayomi, the AAC State Chairman, led his executive to address a press conference in Ibadan, declaring the statement by the state’s IPAC as disappointing and lacking integrity.

Babayomi maintained that the elections were marred by electoral malpractices and manipulations, labelling them as ”an electoral heist.”

He expressed disbelief that the IPAC executives would endorse the elections ”despite widespread evidence of irregularities,” adding that ”they were more concerned with personal interests than representing the will of the people.”

”The AAC firmly stands against the perceived electoral fraud and intends to challenge it legally,” he stated.

He emphasised that the party’s integrity is paramount and will not be compromised for political gain.

Babayomi warned the IPAC executives to reconsider their alliance with Governor Makinde and prioritise good governance over personal interests.

He reiterated the AAC’s commitment to justice and accountability, adding that they challenge the election results through legal means and grassroots mobilisation.
