Adamawa Police Launch Manhunt for Kidnappers of Two Catholic Priests

The Adamawa State Police Command has initiated a manhunt for armed men who abducted two Catholic priests in the state. The victims, Rev. Fr. Mathew Dusami of the Yola Catholic Diocese and Rev. Fr. Abraham Samman of the Jalingo Diocese, were taken from their residence in Gwaida Malam, Numan Local Government Area, around 4:00 a.m. on Saturday.
Suleiman Nguroje, the spokesperson for the Adamawa Police Command, confirmed that security operatives have been deployed to track down the kidnappers and ensure the safe return of the priests. He stated that the state Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, has vowed that the perpetrators will face the full wrath of the law.
Nguroje explained that the armed kidnappers arrived at the priests’ residence early in the morning and forcibly took them away. He added that the Commissioner of Police has mobilized operational and manpower resources to pursue the kidnappers, rescue the victims unharmed, and apprehend the criminals and any accomplices.
The police spokesperson emphasized the command’s dedication to protecting lives and combating violent crimes in the state. He condemned the kidnapping of religious leaders, describing them as key stakeholders actively working to promote peace in society.
Nguroje also appealed for calm and urged the public to provide useful and timely information to assist in the rescue of the victims and the arrest of the criminals.
