Name of running mate ‘is in my pocket book’ –Tinubu

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has clarified on the choice of running mate, saying the name “is in my pocket book.”
Tinubu spoke when he visited President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House, Abuja, on Thursday.
Tinubu was accompanied on the thank-you visit to the president by Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and MD/CEO Oando Plc, Wale Tinubu.
He hailed President Buhari for providing a level playing field for the process of selecting the party’s presidential candidate.
He recounted that the president had promised many times that he would support the democratic process and he had proven that with the party’s presidential primary, which he won.
Asked also of the choice of his running mate, Tinubu said, “I won’t tell you that. That is my right; it is in my pocket book.”
Meanwhile, at least 11 northern governors met with Tinubu on Thursday.
The meeting held amid the search for Tinubu’s running mate in the 2023 presidential election.
On Wednesday, Bayo Onanuga, spokesman of Tinubu Campaign Organisation, told Trust TV that the Vice-Presidential slot of the APC for the 2023 election has been ceded to the governors.
Onanuga said: “When Tinubu met the progressives governors at their forum, he told them that ‘you are going to be the people who will pick my running mate’.”
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has given political parties a week deadline to submit the names of running mates of their presidential aspirants.
