2023: APC approves direct primary for conduct of Abia gov election
Direct mode has been approved by the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the conduct of gubernatorial primaries in Abia State for the 2023 general election.
This comes on the heels of the genuine calls on the national leadership of the APC by many of the aspirants jostling for its governorship ticket ahead of 2023 election in Abia State.
A statement in Umuahia, the State capital, Wednesday night, stated that with the approval by the APC national leadership, members of the party are encouraged to participate in the primaries designated across
the 184 wards of the seventeen local government areas of Abia State.
The APC governorship primaries hold in the state, on Thursday 26th, May 2022
Meanwhile, notable Abia governorship aspirants on the party’s platform, including former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Uche Sampson Ogah, has lauded the decision of the leadership of the party, adding that it is clear demonstration of unwavering commitment towards deepening democratic process across all stratas of the country.
