Yuletide: Gov. Diri grants Bayelsa civil servants seven days holiday

Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State has declared a seven-day Christmas holiday for civil servants, allowing government employees to spend the festive season with their families.

According to an announcement by the Commissioner for Information, Orientation, and Strategy, Mrs. Ebiuwou Koku-Obiyai, the holiday will run from December 24 to December 30, 2024.

However, workers in essential services are exempt from the break and are expected to continue their duties to ensure uninterrupted critical operations during this period.

In his message, Governor Diri expressed profound gratitude to the people of Bayelsa for their steadfast support and highlighted the importance of unity and cooperation in advancing the state’s development. He also extended warm Christmas greetings and wishes for a prosperous New Year.

The governor encouraged residents to celebrate responsibly and remain dedicated to the collective progress of the state throughout the festivities.
