YouthCred Initiative
YouthCred initiative opens registration in Enugu, offers collateral-free credit to young people
Registration is now open in Enugu State for the YouthCred Initiative, a flagship Federal Government program designed to provide affordable, collateral-free credit to young Nigerians.
The program aims to expand financial access and support productivity.
Implemented through CrediCorp, Nigeria’s national consumer credit institution, YouthCred aligns with the federal economic reform agenda to make fair credit accessible to working youths.
In Enugu State, the initiative is being rolled out under Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s administration and coordinated by the Enugu SME Center/Office of Digital Economy.
Arinze Chilo-Offiah, Special Adviser to the Governor on Digital Economy and MSMEs, announced the registration launch.
He stated that the program empowers youths by providing credit for essential tools, including professional equipment, digital devices like phones and laptops, power solutions, transport needs, and other household necessities.
Chilo-Offiah explained that YouthCred removes traditional barriers such as collateral requirements and exploitative lending practices.
It is structured to help young people “work better, earn better, and live better” while building a healthy credit and repayment culture.
The initiative reflects the state government’s commitment to unlocking economic potential through youth-focused interventions.
Employed youths in Enugu State are encouraged to register for this opportunity aimed at enhancing financial stability and productivity.
