The Super Falcons are set to confront England in the Women’s World Cup knockout stage.

This is the third time in the history of Super Falcons, after they also played baren goal with Republic of Ireland in their final Group B match on Monday.

Having started the game top of the standings they only needed to avoid defeat to reach the last-16, and did so as runners-up after Australia dismantled Canada 4-0.

The Super Falcons game with the European champions, England, in Brisbane, Canada, is going to be tough especially as England are favourites to top Group D.

However, Nigeria coach Randy Waldrum said, “I don’t think anybody, before we got here, believed that we could get out of this group and go through it without losing a match.

“So I’m so proud of them and the effort they put in and so happy for them that they’re getting to experience this.”
