WWC: England defeat Nigeria on 4-2 penalty shootouts

In what can aptly be described as England’s toughest gsme in.the Women World Cup extenting to half time and penalties, the English women team defeated the Super Falcons 4-2 on penalties to reach the quarter-finals after the game finish 0-0 afta extra time.

The Super Falcons dominated most part of the match, which attracted a red card from an English player, James.

As England struggle to lead the game from the beginning, Nigeria disallowed them from holding the game, leading to a goalless draw at the end of tbe 90 minutes and exfra time of 30 mimutes Brisbane.

Nigeria have had an unbeaten run to Round of 16 in the tournament.

Their confidence grow when Michelle Alozie started creating create chances for her team but Alessia Russo didn’t allow goal in the net of the English team.
