The decision comes on the heels of the swearing-in ceremony of the pioneer Head of Service, Permanent Secretaries of the FCTA, Chairman, and FCT Civil Service Commission members.

During the ceremony, Minister of FCT Nyesom Wike disclosed the impending reshuffling of directors, urging them to accept their new postings in good faith.

He emphasized that the reshuffling would span all sectors of the FCTA, aiming to enforce optimal performance and productivity.

Wike underscored the urgency of the reshuffling, stating that it would take effect immediately after the ceremony.

He reiterated his commitment to implementing the decision promptly, emphasizing the need for directors to adapt swiftly to their new roles.

Furthermore, Wike issued a stern warning to the newly appointed permanent secretaries, cautioning them against underperformance.

He emphasized a zero-tolerance policy towards indolence, stressing that any official failing to meet expectations would face immediate dismissal.

In addition, the Minister advised against unnecessary delays in handling files or any actions that could impede the system’s efficiency. He emphasized the importance of prompt and effective service delivery to meet the public’s expectations.

Addressing the newly appointed Coordinators, particularly those overseeing the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council, Wike highlighted the importance of their roles in enhancing service delivery, especially in areas directly impacting residents, such as street lighting, sanitation, and waste management.

Wike commended President Bola Tinubu for his commitment to implementing the FCT Civil Service Commission (Establishment) Act, 2018 and urged appointees to demonstrate loyalty and commitment to ensuring Abuja’s effective functioning.

The Minister urged all appointees to prioritize efficiency, loyalty, and commitment to duty.
