Why Gov. Adeleke defects to Accord Party from PDP, by Commissioner
Osun State’s Commissioner for Information, Kolapo Alimi, has given reason why Governor Ademola Adeleke defected to Accord Party from the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
He explained that the Governor’s formal departure on Tuesday followed extensive consultations.
The commissioner the move is attributable directly to the unresolved leadership crisis within the PDP.
He stated that the persistent internal conflict within the PDP made it an untenable platform for Adeleke to seek re-election.
Alimi noted that the Governor had received widespread advice to secure a second term, but doing so under a party “struggling with leadership” was deemed unwise. He described the PDP’s internal strife as a nationally recognized issue compelling the Governor’s exit.
