When You’re’re Rash With Power, You May Crash With Power! Reno Omokri reacts to Wike, Fubara feud

When You’re’re Rash With Power, You May Crash With Power!
Moses was not a king, president or prime minister. Yet the ancient Israelites followed him because he knew where he was going. You don’t need an office or title to be a leader of significant influence. You just need clarity of purpose and destination and purity of intention, and people will follow you as their leader.
I do not subscribe to Bola Tinubu. However, it is undeniable that he has that ability. Between 2007 and 2023, he had no title or office, yet controlled those who had titles and offices, including General Buhari. Oh yes! Including Buhari.
Nyesom Wike and Simi Fubara should ponder on this. In the case of Fubara, he is borrowing too much power from his office as Governor and title as Chief Security Officer of Rivers State. He may not like to hear this, but his power is not emanating from his person. He does not have the personality of a leader. Yes, he is aggressive. But there is more to leadership than aggression.
Since this whole ugly episode began, he has been reacting. He is now like Faust. After selling his soul to the devil, he wants to renege without giving that principality what was pledged. Almost all politicians from Rivers have a tendency for aggression. But at some point, you may have to add strategy to your energy.
Wike is obviously an egomaniac. You can see it during his interviews with the press. He does all the talking. He will not allow journalists finish their questions. He is a know-it-all-all who does not really know that much. But, he also has a type A leadership personality in a multi-ethnic state where politicians survive by a combination of vindictiveness and ethnic loyalties. And his ability to sustain the loyalties of the G-5 Governors is commendable.
Fubara has made the classic mistake of thinking he is the big picture, so he cannot see the bigger picture. If anything happens and he loses that office, either now or in 2027, or even in 2031, things may not be easy for him. Certainly, his political enemies would try unravelling the circumstances behind the burning of the Rivers State House of Assembly, and when that occurs, anything can happen! Because that incidence was not a coincidence. When you are rash with power, you may crash with power!
