We’re not recruiting, Lagos Education Board Denies Social Media Report

The Lagos State Education Board has refuted recent social media posts claiming that the board is currently recruiting teachers for its schools.

According to the board, the posts are false and misleading, and members of the public are advised to disregard them.

In a statement issued today by the board’s spokesperson, Mr. Adeola Salako, he stated that the board has not announced any teaching job vacancies and is not recruiting at the moment.

He also warned members of the public to be cautious of fraudulent individuals who may be using the board’s name to defraud unsuspecting job seekers.

“We want to inform members of the public that the Lagos State Education Board is not recruiting teachers at the moment, and we have not made any announcement to that effect.

“We are aware of the false posts circulating on social media, and we urge the public to disregard them,” Salako said.

He added that the board is committed to following due process in all its recruitment exercises and will always make official announcements through its official channels and website.

The statement also warned job seekers to be wary of individuals who claim to have connections within the board and promise to facilitate their recruitment for a fee. The board stated that it does not charge any fees for recruitment and that all applications are to be made directly to the board.

The Lagos State Education Board is responsible for the administration and management of all public primary and secondary schools in the state. The board is committed to ensuring that quality education is accessible to all students in Lagos State, and it regularly recruits qualified teachers to fill teaching vacancies in its schools.

The Lagos State government has also issued a warning to the public about the dangers of falling prey to recruitment scams on social media.

In a statement released by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Omotoso, he stated that the government has noticed an increase in fraudulent recruitment schemes on social media and that members of the public should be vigilant.

“We have observed with concern the proliferation of recruitment scams on social media, where unsuspecting job seekers are defrauded of their hard-earned money by fraudulent individuals.

“We want to warn the public to be cautious and to verify all job offers before making any payments,” Omotoso said.

He added that the government is committed to creating job opportunities for the citizens of Lagos State and that all recruitment exercises will be conducted through official channels and in accordance with due process.

The Lagos State government has also established various job creation initiatives, such as the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund and the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund Academy, which provide funding and training opportunities for entrepreneurs and job seekers.
