We won’t allow one-party state – PDP, blames Tinubu

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has warned President Bola Tinubu against alleged attempts to transform Nigeria into a one-party state.
The party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) issued the warning in a communiqué following its 99th meeting in Abuja on Tuesday.
Acting PDP National Chairman, Umar Damagum, stated that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is driven by fear of defeat in the 2027 elections due to its poor governance record.
The communiqué read in part: “NEC strongly condemns the escalating insecurity across the nation, including rampant killings, banditry, kidnappings, and terrorist attacks, worsened by President Tinubu’s apparent neglect of his constitutional duty to protect citizens.
“NEC also decries the severe economic crisis and rising poverty caused by the Tinubu administration’s poorly planned policies—such as the fuel price hike, arbitrary electricity tariff increases, excessive taxation, and hidden levies. These measures have crippled businesses, triggered massive job losses, and fueled widespread suffering.”
The PDP further accused the Tinubu-led government of presiding over a decline in infrastructure and national development.
