We have digitized all processes in civil service – Dasuki
Director-General, Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR) Dasuki Ibrahim Arabi said it has commenced a master plan to digitize all of its processes and implement strategies to encourage inclusivity in the public service.
Dasuki on Wednesday said the Bureau has introduced some processes in Public Financial Management that has made Nigeria Federal Public Service one of the leading drivers in use of technology through transparency and accountability.
He made this known at the Human Capital Strategy Forum, organized by Bratim Business School, with the theme, Inclusive workplace, workforce motivation and performance.
Dasuki also disclosed that BPSR has developed an application to enable auditors to work online through an open portal.
He identified IPPIS, single-treasury account and BVN as some of the reforms that have helped manage the human resource aspect of its strategy, where the date of entry and exit of a civil servant can be easily detected and traced.
”We have developed an application to enable auditors to audit us online. Through the open portal, they can sit down in the office of the Accountant General and audit the accounts of any ministry, department or agency,” he said.
He further stated that it has also developed a Civil Service strategy to improve the skill of the officers from point of recruitment, promotion and discipline.
Dasuki added that promotion of officers in public service will now be done based on use of technology.
”We have just introduced performance management to hold people accountable and we have developed standard operating procedures and KPIs in all ministries, departments and Agencies of the government.
”The promotion of officers from 2021 will be done based on use of IT. They are given targets based on KPI and they are being watched electronically. As they are working, they are providing reports and at the end of the day, a system will aggregate and score them,” he added.
