Vote for candidates who will work with me, Wike tells FCT residents ahead of council polls

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has assured members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) of his support ahead of Saturday’s local council elections, urging residents to vote for candidates who will collaborate with his administration.

Speaking at a campaign rally in the Apo District of Abuja, Wike endorsed the APC candidate for the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) chairmanship position, Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, and appealed to voters to reject candidates who might oppose his leadership.

He promised that his administration would ensure residents enjoy democratic dividends if they support the APC candidate.

“I came here to tell you, if you do for me, I’ll do for you, if you love me, I’ll love you. Push me, I’ll push you. Let me tell you, the chairman has read out what you should do, let me tell you, do your own on Saturday and leave the other ones for me. All those politicians that tell you stories, I’m not one of them. I am a talk and do person,” Wike said.

“I told Maikalangu, that you have to vote for somebody that can talk to me and I will listen, don’t vote for somebody that when I go left, he’ll go right, if I go front, he’ll go back.”

Voters in the FCT will head to the polls on Saturday to elect six Area Council Chairmen for Abaji, AMAC, Bwari, Gwagwalada, Kuje, and Kwali, as well as Councillors for 62 wards.
