Tinubu, Labour Meeting Over Minimum Wage Deadlocked, To Reconvene Next Week

President Bola Tinubu and the leaders of the Organised Labour agreed to reconvene next week over talks on the new minimum wage.

The President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Joe Ajaero, told journalists after the meeting which ended after an hour, that discussions dwelt largely on explanations of issues, rather than resolutions.

Ajaero said both Federal Government and Organised Labour maintained their N62,000 and N250,000 minimum wage propositions respectively.

Also, the President of the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC), Comrade Festus Osifo, said the Labour leaders met with the President to express their concerns about the hardships Nigerians were enduring.

However, the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, who facilitated the meeting, stated that the issues discussed were advantageous to both sides.
