The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has vowed it won’t give up on Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, and other aggrieved members of the party.

The Wike group, composed of five governors,  shunned their inclusion in Atiku’s Presidential Campaign Council.

The group, which also included former National Vice Chairman, Chief Olabode George, and former Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Mimiko, insisted that Ayu must resign to give away for a Southerner to lead the party.

Other governors in Wike’s camp include Benue State governor, Samuel Ortom, Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde, Abia state, Okezie Ikpaezu, and Enugu State governor, Ugwuanyi Ifeanyi.

However, on the reconciliation move with the group, the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, on Friday in Abuja said the party is exploring other options to mend the fence.

He told journalists, “We have an internal conflict resolution mechanism, we can’t give up hope on reconciliation, because this party is PDP, not an individual. We don’t give commands, we don’t give instructions, we negotiate.

“As a party, we are very confident that Governor Wike, other governors and other members of our party who have issues to deal with remain important. But irrespective of other divides, misunderstandings or differences we are all united to rescue our country from the rudderless APC government”.
