Umahi orders contractor to open completed sections of Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Road for Eid travel
The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has instructed Infiouest Nigeria Limited, the contractor handling the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Road project, to immediately open all finished sections of the highway to ease traffic during the Eid ul-Adha festivities.
Umahi explained that the order is intended to ensure safer and smoother trips for holiday travelers.
According to a statement from his media aide, Francis Nwaze, in Abuja, the minister confirmed that a recent accident on the road has been completely cleared. He also said security forces have been stationed at key points along the route to uphold order.
Umahi assured road users of enhanced safety throughout the Sallah holidays.
Parts of the road had been blocked to allow the contractor carrying out ongoing reconstruction to finish the work.
