U.S., UK, France aiding Nigeria in rescue of abducted schoolchildren – NSA Ribadu

The National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, has announced that Nigeria is receiving technical assistance from the United States, France, and the United Kingdom in its fight against terrorism.

He made this statement during a visit to Kontagora, Niger State, where he met with community leaders and parents of pupils recently abducted from St. Mary’s Private Catholic School in Papiri.

Ribadu conveyed President Bola Tinubu’s deep concern and directive to use all necessary means to secure the children’s release.

“This is a painful period for all of us,” Ribadu said after listening to parents, “but I want to assure you: we will rescue your children.”

Accompanied by senior officials including the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and the Director-General of the DSS, Ribadu emphasized that security operations are being intensified.

He noted that President Tinubu had even suspended official engagements to prioritize the situation.

The NSA also commended Bishop Bulus Dauwa Yohanna for his leadership and reassured the community that international support is bolstering Nigeria’s efforts.

“The whole world stands with us. This evil will not prevail,” he stated.

Bishop Yohanna thanked the Federal Government for the visit, saying it had restored hope among affected families.

Following the public meeting, a closed-door session was held where church and school representatives provided further details on the abduction and its impact on the community.
