Troops Arrest Female Ammunition Courier, Accomplice in Zamfara
Troops of 1 Brigade, Sector 2, Operation Fansan Yamma, have apprehended a 25-year-old female ammunition courier, Shamsiyya Ahadu, and her accomplice, Ahmed Husaini, a motorcycle rider.
According to a statement by Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, Coordinator of the Joint Media Coordinating Centre, the suspects were intercepted on December 28, 2024, in the Badarawa area of Shinkafi Local Government Area, Zamfara State. They were found with 764 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition and six magazines intended for delivery to terrorist kingpin Bello Turji’s camp.
The arrest followed an intelligence report about terrorist logistics movements from Kware to Badarawa.
Troops promptly established a roadblock, leading to the capture of the suspects, who are now undergoing investigation.
The statement emphasized Operation Fansan Yamma’s commitment to dismantling terrorist networks and curbing the illegal movement of arms and ammunition.
It also urged the public to continue providing credible information to aid the operation.
The theatre command appreciated the ongoing support from local communities in the fight against terrorism.
