The election of Buruji Kashamu, representing Ogun East at the Senate, has ben nullified by Election Petition Tribunal. Kashamu contested the May 2015 election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Six other results of PDP candidates in the state assembly elections in Ogun State have also been cancelled, with the election tribunal ordering a re-run in 90 days.
The PDP candidates besides Kashamu (Ogun East) were: Segun Adekoya (Ijebu North, Ijebu East and Ogun Waterside).
Others in the State House of Assembly are Oduntan Atanda (Egbado North), Ojo Adebowale (Idiroko/Ipokia), Alausa Olawale (Ijebu ode), Oyenuga Adejuwon (Ijebu East) and Bowale Solaja (Ijebu North).
The senatorial election re-run election will hold in 110 polling units in eight out of the nine local governments that make up the senatorial district.
Indeed, the House of Representatives position, Biyi Ismail of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will be going with 137 votes, with re-run slated for 222 polling units.
The three man Tribunal headed by Justice Ebiowei Tobi ordered rerun in all the affected posts within 90 days.
