Tragedy! Four die as Zaria Central Mosque’s walls collapses
Tragedy has occurred in Zaria, Kaduna State, as the Central Misque collapsed on Friday, killing four worshippers.
Mallam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, the Emir of Zazzau, confirmed the tragic occurrence, revealing that the calamity struck during the observance of the Asr prayer at approximately 4 pm.
Indications were that a team of engineers were scheduled to work on the cracked portion of the walls of the mosque a day prior, before the incident happened.
The Emir, amid mourning, has sent his condolences to the grieving families of the victims.
He also directed that prayers be conducted outside the mosque until the necessary repairs are concluded.
Furthermore, he said the funeral prayers for the departed would be held at 8:30 pm on the same day within the premises of the Emir’s palace.
