The move is geared towards fortifying community policing and encouraging Nigerians to engage with his administration’s Renewed Hope Police agenda.

The Minister of State for Police Affairs, Hon Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, made the announcement in Abuja on Thursday, revealing plans to engage stakeholders in Lagos during the town hall meeting.

Emphasizing the importance of the initiative, she highlighted that similar meetings would take place nationwide, allowing citizens to voice their opinions on security matters, aligning with global best practices.

Recognizing the diversity among communities and their unique security challenges, the minister emphasized the need for tailored community policing strategies to address specific local concerns effectively.

The anticipated event in Lagos is expected to witness the presence of key dignitaries, including Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Speaker Mudashiru Obasa, members of the State House of Assembly, alongside representatives from various community segments such as youth, women groups, academia, religious leaders, and traditional authorities.

”This comprehensive gathering aims to foster a collective dialogue on enhancing security measures aligned with the specific needs of each community,” she said.
