Tinubu restates pledge to strengthen Nigerian military, equip, arm Armed Forces

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has restated his commitment to strengthen the Nigerian military, pledging to use his constitutional powers to continue equipping, arming, and empowering the nation’s armed forces.
Tinubu restated hia commitment during the graduation ceremony of Course 32 participants at the National Defence College in Abuja on Friday.
President Tinubu, who was represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, emphasized the critical role of strategic leadership in addressing Nigeria’s complex security and development challenges.
He acknowledged the sacrifices and achievements of the Nigerian Armed Forces in protecting the country’s territorial integrity and ensuring the safety of its citizens.
Tinubu vowed to ensure that the military remains well-resourced and capable of fulfilling its duties.
He also expressed concern over the state of infrastructure at the National Defence College’s permanent site in Piwoyi, Abuja, and assured that his administration would complete ongoing upgrades and facility improvements.
The President thanked the Course 32 graduates for their research contributions aimed at leveraging Nigeria’s mining industry for national security and development.
He highlighted the importance of the college’s approach to consolidating knowledge through broad thematic areas, which has facilitated sustainable solutions to security and development issues in Nigeria and beyond.
Tinubu also outlined some of the progress his administration has made in addressing national challenges, including the implementation of a new national minimum wage, efforts to curb crude oil theft and pipeline vandalism in the Niger Delta, and initiatives to create a conducive business environment that fosters value addition in the mining sector.
The President urged the graduates to uphold the values of excellence, courage, patriotism, and integrity as they apply their newly acquired skills to address the multifaceted challenges facing Nigeria.
The ceremony was attended by key government officials, military leaders, and dignitaries, including the Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru; the Minister of Finance, Wale Edun; and the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, among others.
The 111 graduates of Course 32, drawn from various national agencies and institutions, as well as 19 international participants from countries including India, Brazil, South Africa, and Ghana, were recognized for their role in bolstering Nigeria’s strategic leadership across multiple sectors.
