Tinubu receives Super Eagles, gives team, coaches national honour, houses in Abuja

Silver-winning Super Eagles team in the just-concluded African Cup of Nations, AFCON, held in Cote d’Ivoire have been honoured with the Member of the Order of the Niger(MON) national honour for their impressive display during the tournament.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who awarded all members of the team with the national honour, gave each player a flat and a piece of land in the region around the capital.

Tinubu, who hosted the national team at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, praised them for their resilience, saying he was proud of the side — even if it was tough to stomach the defeat.
In attendance were all members of the team and officials, including national coach, Jose Peseiro.

According to Tinubu, “Let this passing event not dispirit us but bring us together to work harder.
“To those cherished Nigerian youths expressing their gifts in communities, drawing lines in the sand as they play football in their humble rectangles of play, you can be our heroes tomorrow, do not relent in your pursuit. My administration is here to make dreams come true.”
