Tinubu meets Fasoranti, other Afenifere leaders, assures of economic improvement

President Bola Tinubu has conveyed his commitment to restructuring Nigeria, assuring that the country will soon experience economic improvement under his administration.
During a closed-door meeting with the National Leader of Afenifere, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, in Akure, Tinubu emphasized the need for proper foundations to be laid to achieve these goals.
According to Jare Ajayi, the National Publicity Secretary of Afenifere, Tinubu expressed confidence in the structures he is putting in place, which he believes will bring Nigeria back to its rightful place economically, socially, and politically.
“I prayed for it, I danced for it, I campaigned for it, and I got it. I know the enormous amount of responsibility, so don’t pity me, Baba; just sit down and relax,” Tinubu said during the meeting.
Tinubu highlighted the importance of self-sufficiency, stating, “We should eat the food we grow. Doing so would prevent us from depending on foods from foreign sources. A nation that fully depends on food from outside cannot get it.”
In response, Fasoranti commended Tinubu’s performance and urged for a true Federal Republic that reflects fiscal federalism.
He questioned why the derivation principle, which is applied to oil, is not also implemented in value-added tax.
The meeting focused on core issues related to moving the country forward, and Tinubu reiterated his determination to build structures that would not be easily reversed.
