…I know Bishop Oyedepo, I won’t say so much but I can say I know him enough to say I know a person.
I was privileged to attend same primary school with Bishop Oyedepo -St Pauls Anglican School Omu Aran. I finished from this School in 1966 before I went to Government School Ilorin in 1967 and Bishop Oyedepo also finished in 1967 from St Pauls Anglican Primary School and attended Government Secondary School Omu Aran. Bishop Oyedepo is a man who is filled with knowledge from God, he can be listed among people that are very knowledgeable. At that time there was nothing like the 6-3-3-4 education program. Ar that time you will spend 7 years in primary school then 5 years in secondary school. Afterwards you would spend 2 years either in higher school certificate (HSC) or you spend it in basic studies in a college of technology. Bishop Oyedepo is among those that went to college of technology for basic studies for 2 years. As at then one offered 3 principal subjects. Bishop Oyedepo offered Physics, Chemistry and Biology. These 3 principal subjects were what was required to enable one later take Medicine in order to become a medical doctor. However when he got to the school, he was busy with his Bible. He didn’t read any other book apart from the Bible. ChurchGist. To the extent that he organized a joint campus fellowship for students from School of Basic Studies, Institute of Technology (IOT), Government Technical College, Ilorin Teacher’s College and these were all known as ‘Joint Campus’ that he arranged the Bible study for fellow students of these schools. That was how he started. Like play, like joke!

At the end of the day, he didn’t study medicine. Instead he took architecture. But even the architecture, it’s just GOD because before you can pass, you have to spend sleepless nights in the studio. ChurchGist. They draw from afternoon till the following morning and then go and shower then continue again..but he passed even though by the time he finished, the Joint Campus Fellowship had begun to look like church and that is how he began. Incidentally, during his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Program, they brought him to Housing Corporation. By then, I was also in Kwara State Housing Corporation as the only Town Planner in Housing Corporation n. I don’t think he spent up to 3 or 4 months before he relocated to Kaduna. That is where he started Living Faith -Winners’ Chapel.

Now See how God has chosen him to be a preacher of righteousness. Righteous Bishop for the whole world. ChurchGist. Not just for Nigeria but to all the World. In my capacity as the King, the Olomu of Omu Aran, when we say ‘Omu Aran’, we mention his name because when we mention David Oyedepo, we have mentioned Omu Aran. He has done ‘gudu gudu meje yaya mefa’ (great things -Good 7 times and Yeah Yeah-6 times)😂 in the land of Omu Aran.

The University that he built in Omu Aran which is Landmark University, I personally call it Jerusalem in Omu Aran because it is our Jerusalem.

There is nothing someone has done on earth which Bishop Oyedepo has not done for us in Omu Aran. ChurchGist. He took over responsibilities for teachers and started paying salaries of science teachers . He built roads. There is no form of project or infrastructure you can think of that Bishop Oyedepo has not contributed to in the land of Omu Aran. For this reason, I am using this opportunity to pray for Bishop David Olaniyi Oyedepo that God will satisfy him with long life in power and in the promise of God.
