Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku read the riot act to  vowed to newly sworn-in caretaker committee chairmen.

The governor vowed to deal with any of them who perform below expectations.

Ishaku spoke at the swearing-in ceremony of the 16 local councils caretaker committee chairmen held on Thursday at the Government House Jalingo.

He warned them to desist from acts capable of frustrating their performance, saying, “I won’t think twice to discipline any underperforming chairman who abuses this privilege for personal gain”.

He warned them against using their positions to advance their political ambitions.

He said he would not condone abandoning their task of ensuring people have access to good governance to chase political ambitions.

Ishaku also urged them to participate in the administration’s overall grand design, which entails “good governance, provision of infrastructure, and the overall well-being of all residents of the state.”

Urging them to prioritize the maintenance of peace in their respective councils, he said doing such would enable the government at the state level to herald the much-desired development to the grassroots.

Ishaku, who did not also spare the public, warned them against putting undue pressure on the appointees by making demands that could prevent them from completing the crucial task of enhancing the populace’s quality of life
