Tacha Demands N10bn Compensation from Dangote Group Over Truck Accident Involving Phyna’s Sister
Former Big Brother Naija star Tacha has called on the Dangote Group to take accountability after one of its trucks was involved in a severe accident with Phyna’s sister, Ruth, leading to the amputation of her leg.
In a post on X, Tacha urged the company to address the reckless driving of its employees and provide significant compensation to Ruth and her family.
She demanded N10 billion as restitution, emphasizing that while the amount cannot undo the physical and emotional trauma, it would serve as a step toward justice.
The Dangote Group must pay heavily for their drivers’ negligence. They should compensate Ruth with $10 million—though no amount can bring back her leg or undo the pain,” Tacha stated.
The accident, which occurred on August 13, 2025, in Auchi, Edo State, has ignited public outrage, with many Nigerians calling for stricter road safety regulations. Ruth, a recent graduate of Auchi Polytechnic, was struck by the truck while leaving campus, resulting in the loss of her leg and internal injuries. The driver attempted to escape but was caught by witnesses.
Following the incident, Dangote Group representatives and their insurance team visited the scene, coordinated with authorities, and met Ruth’s family at Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital, promising full medical support and compensation.
Meanwhile, Phyna has continued to push for justice, demanding stricter corporate accountability to prevent future tragedies.
The case has amplified discussions on road safety and corporate responsibility in Nigeria, with many joining Tacha in demanding systemic changes.
